A Man After God's Heart
03:36

David was the son of a man named Jesse
He helped his father with the sheep in Bethlehem
One day he found out that a giant named Goliath
Taunted the Israelites again and again
David was a man a man after God’s heart
He loved God’s Word and he loved God’s law
A poet a musician a warrior and a king
Filled with conviction even from the start
David was a man after God’s own heart
The King said I’ll reward anyone who slays the giant
The solders all trembled, they would be destroyed
But David said don’t worry, I will go and fight him
The King said that’s ridiculous you are just a boy
Now David said I take care of my father’s sheep and goats
And there were times a lion or bear attacked when I was alone
When they did I took a club and I drove them away
The Lord who saved me from the beasts will be with me today
CHORUS
Goliath laughed at David, David ran right toward him
Reached inside his shepherds bag and found a stone
He hurled it with his sling the giant fell forward
And God’s people didn’t have to fear any more
CHORUS
